It turns out that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, one of the highest-paid Hollywood action stars, can’t fit into a Porsche Taycan. The Hollywood star shared this in a hilarious post on Instagram where he could not fit inside a Taycan for a shoot sequence for his upcoming movie ‘Red Notice’ for Netflix.
Have you ever wondered why most Americans are particularly fond of pickup trucks? Or have you ever wondered why most European sportscars are not so popular in the States? Well, it could a matter of where they fit in really. It turns out that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, one of the highest-paid Hollywood action stars, can’t fit into a Porsche Taycan. The Hollywood star shared this in a hilarious post on Instagram of him not fitting inside a Porsche Taycan for a shoot sequence for his upcoming movie ‘Red Notice’ for Netflix.
Dwayne Johnson narrated the incident in an Instagram post where he said that the Porsche Taycan was brought in for a part in a big chase sequence. It involved months of preparation, high production costs and even buying the electric supercar and shipping it to the filming location. When it was actually time to shoot the scene, writer and producer Rawson Marshall Thurber instructed Dwayne to step inside the car. It was however a little more complicated that simply sliding into the seat as Johnson soon realizes he “is a bit too wide.”
Dwayne Johnson is quite tall at 6 and a half feet and coupled with his wide body build, the Porsche Taycan was clearly not built for him. The crew shared a rather hilarious moment when they realized there was no way Dwayne could fit inside the car. Nevertheless, the crew did improvise and managed to get their necessary shots with a little bit of creativity and exploring some different camera angles. It is however safe to assume that Dwayne Johnson was not able to do the car stunts himself in this movie as he might have wanted to.

This however isn’t the first instance where the Hollywood icon has struggled to fit inside an European sportscar. Back in 2015, when Dwayne was shooting for the HBO series Ballers, he had a similar problem of fitting inside a Ferrari LaFerrari which was to be used in a sequence in the series. The actor in a post on Facebook said, “She was a fast machine, she kept her motor clean – she was the best damn woman that I ever seen..950 horsepower….The drawback…? Daddy don’t fit in it.”

Considering that a lot of Americans still have an average size similar to Dwayne Johnson, we guess we finally have an answer as to why Americans are so fond of pickup trucks. Well, they need something where they can fit into and most European sportscars will be too small for them. As for the Porsche Taycan, its a perfectly great electric sportscar and it would be interesting to see it in action in a chase sequence in a film. The movie Red Notice is one of Netflix’s most expensive yet and also stars Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds. Its set for a release in 2021.
